Why Choose Travel Social Work With TotalMed?

Choosing TotalMed for travel social work presents a plethora of compelling advantages, distinguishing it from other agencies in the field.

One key feature is its broad spectrum of BSW job opportunities. This makes it an ideal choice for those eager to embark on a career in travel social work without an advanced degree.

With an impressive array BSW listings spanning case management to community health, TotalMed caters to individuals holding bachelor’s degrees.

Furthermore, TotalMed boasts an extensive job board ranging from BSW roles to LCSW positions. The agency’s offerings also extend to a wide variety of locations.

Moreover, TotalMed offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Overall, TotalMed is a highly attractive agency for travel social workers seeking professional growth.

Pros of Travel Social Work With TotalMed

Working as a travel social worker with TotalMed offers a host of unique benefits that you won’t necessarily get with other agencies.

From the availability of travel BSW jobs to the number of different jobs and locations, there are lots of things to like about this company.

So, let’s take a closer look at some of the upsides of working with TotalMed as a travel social worker.

1. BSW Job Opportunities

One of the unique aspects of working with TotalMed is that they feature many BSW job listings.

So, if you’re looking to jump into travel social work without obtaining advanced education and certification, this could be the right agency for you. As of this writing, there are well over a dozen listings for a “Degreed Social Worker – Health Plan.”

The positions range “from case management to community health, and everything in between.”

These jobs are available to those who “hold a bachelor’s degree in a health & human services related field and are commonly pursuing a license.”

2. Lots of Job Openings

Another nice thing about working with TotalMed travel nursing agency is that they have a lot of openings listed on their online job board.

In fact, as of this writing, there are over 50 travel social work jobs listed on the site. The positions range from degreed social workers who hold only a Bachelor’s degree to LCSW positions.

While most of the LCSW jobs are hospital-based, there are lots of them to choose from. Overall, if you want to work in a hospital setting and are a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, this agency could be a great fit.

3. Diverse Locations

Not only does TotalMed feature a lot of travel social work job listings, but they also have openings in a diverse set of locations.

In fact, we found listings for LCSW positions in cities ranging from Lancaster, PA and Spokane, WA to San Diego, CA and Kansas City, MO.

Meanwhile, there are Degreed Social Worker (Health Plan) positions listed in cities from Jacksonville, FL to San Antonio, TX.

4. Competitive Pay & Robust Benefits

Finally, one more nice thing about working with TotalMed travel nursing agency is that they offer competitive pay and an impressive suite of benefits.

The pay for LCSW travel positions typically ranged from about $2,000 to $3,000. By default, the agency’s website sorts job searches in order from highest- to lowest-paying.

As of this writing, the highest-paying position we saw was for a Licensed Social Worker in a Hospital setting in Spokane, WA. The position pays $2,905 a week and is open to those who hold LSW, LCSW, or LCPC licensure.

Meanwhile, the lowest-paying position we found was for a Degreed Social Worker (Health Plan) in San Antonio, TX. The position is open to BSW holders and pays $840 per week.

Finally, some of the benefits we typically saw in most of the listings include:

  • First day medical benefits
  • 401(K) retirement plan
  • Fiduciary services through Creative Planning

Cons of Travel Social Work With TotalMed

The biggest downside to TotalMed is that we weren’t able to find any information about housing or stipends on their website.

However, just because we couldn’t find this information doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t provide this support.

If you choose to work with TotalMed, be sure to ask your recruiter if they provide housing or a housing stipend.

TotalMed Travel Social Work Agency Reviews

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any reviews from social workers for TotalMed. However, we did find a lot of reviews from other types of healthcare workers, like travel nurses.

One travel nurse on Indeed wrote:

“They’re good at finding you facilities near your area. Supportive staff. Pay is on time. Any issue was resolved quickly. They are responsive to any queries.”

– Travel RN from Texas (September 1, 2023)

Another positive review on Indeed said:

“My recruiter has been on my travel journey with me for the past three years. Open communication and transparency are above par. TotalMed provides outstanding benefits to their employees.”

-Travel RN from Southern Pines, NC (May 7, 2023)

It seemed that a lot of the more negative reviews were from the recruiters who work directly for TotalMed. While this is unfortunate, the fact that most of the travel workers seem to have positive experiences does bode well for you as a travel social worker.

This agency stands out for its expansive array of BSW job opportunities, making it particularly appealing for those new to the field or without advanced degrees.

Additionally, the agency’s competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits package, and wide range of job locations further enhance its attractiveness.

However, potential concerns, such as the lack of clear information about housing or stipends, suggest that candidates should proactively seek clarifications from recruiters on these points.
