Social Work Education Guides

There are several different levels of social work education you can pursue. Some aspiring social workers begin by earning their Associate Degree in Social Work (ASW).

However, most start by earning their Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, and many then go on to pursue their Master’s In Social Work (MSW) degree through an Advanced Standing program, which usually takes one year of full-time study to complete.

However, if you have a non-social work undergraduate degree, you may be able apply to a Regular Standing MSW program, usually requiring two years of full-time study to complete.

Finally, some social workers opt to pursue a terminal degree, like the Doctorate In Social Work (DSW) or PhD In Social Work.
