This diversity in job opportunities is complemented by competitive pay rates, with some contracts offering compensation of up to over $3,000 per week.

Furthermore, Aya stands out for its comprehensive benefits package, including a 401k plan, day one insurance, and even unique wellness perks.

They also offer significant support for licensure and career planning. This can help you navigate the complexities of state-specific licensing requirements and plan your travel career with confidence.

Ultimately, travel social work with Aya Healthcare means joining an organization that values your professional skills while in your career development and well-being. Overall, this makes it an ideal choice for those looking to explore the country while making a meaningful impact in their field.

Pros of Travel Social Work With Aya Healthcare

1. High-Paying Contracts

One of the best things about working with Aya Healthcare as a travel social worker is that a lot of their job opportunities pay really well.

In fact, as of this writing, we found a few listings offering compensation of up to over $3,000 per week in Puyallup, WA and Spokane, WA. Meanwhile, there were several others offering pay of up to over $2,800 per week in Somerville, NJ and Chicago, IL.

While you’ll need to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to be a candidate for these high-paying positions, there are also good opportunities for other types of social workers.

For example, one social services job requiring only an MSW in Eureka, CA is paying up to nearly $2,500 per week.

2. Lots of Job Listings

Because Aya Healthcare is a behemoth in the traveling professional staffing space, this agency has a lot of job listings. As of this writing, the company has nearly 60 listings in states all across the nation for various types of social workers.

Not only does this give you more access to the kind of jobs you want, but it also gives you more choice in the location you work at. Additionally, their website allows you to filter search results by location if you’re hoping to work in a particular state.

We found travel social work contracts on the east coast, west coast, and everywhere in between.

So, whether you want to work in California, Washington, New York, Illinois, or somewhere else, you’re likely to find the perfect contract for you.

3. Assignments For Multiple Types of Social Workers

While some agencies tend to only cater to Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Aya Healthcare provides opportunities to other types of social workers as well.

In fact, we found multiple listings for both MSWs and LMSWs. Better yet, the agency makes it easy to filter their listings so you only see the jobs relevant to your qualifications.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find any opportunities for BSW or LBSW candidates. However, very few agencies do, so it’s hard to fault Aya for this.

4. Great Benefits

Not only does Aya Healthcare tend to provide great compensation, but they also give travelers access to a robust set of benefits.

First, they offer a 401k plan that you can enroll in and contribute to after working four consecutive months. Alternatively, if you don’t work four consecutive months, you can enroll and contribute one year from your hire date as long as you work at least 1,000 hours.

Additionally, you become eligible for matching after one year if you work for at least 1,000 hours.

Second, this travel social work agency provides comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance which kicks in the first day you start an assignment. Better yet, you have the option to add a spouse and/or dependents to your plan.

Third, you start accruing sick time on the first day of your assignment. For every 30 hours you work, you receive an additional hour of sick time. You can start using this accrued time after working for 90 days.

Fourth, for most allied health contracts, this agency provides their own housing options, or you can opt for a housing stipend. Additionally, you can ask your recruiter to provide guidance when it comes to your short-term accommodation.

Finally, Aya offers additional perks and discounts. For example, you’ll gain access to free wellness and fitness programs, like meditation and yoga. Additionally, you can access employee assistance programs, like clinical escalation, if you need additional support due to your work environment.

5. Licensure Support & Career Planning Resources

One more great thing about travel social work with Aya Healthcare is that they provide licensure guidance and support, as well as career planning assistance.

Since social work licensing requirements vary from state to state, this process can get confusing. Fortunately, with Aya, you’ll be able to work with a credentialing specialist to navigate this often-overwhelming aspect of travel social work.

Better yet, the company typically reimburses you for any additional licensing costs in your first paycheck. Depending on the state you want to work in, they may even be able to help expedite the licensing process.

Additionally, because of this agency’s close working relationships with facilities across the country, they can often help you plan ahead and book assignments well in advance.

If you’re new to travel social work, Aya Healthcare will provide support in getting you started. Meanwhile, if you’ve got some experience already under your belt, the company can help you plan your entire travel career.

Cons of Travel Social Work With Aya Healthcare

There really aren’t too many downsides to working with Aya Healthcare. As the largest healthcare staffing agency in the country, they’ve built an impressive reputation.

However, one potential downside is that they don’t seem to work with BSW and LBSW candidates. While this is typical for many travel social work agencies, there are a few that consider those with this lower level of licensure for travel positions.

On the other hand, if you’ve earned at least your MSW and have a year or two of experience under your belt, you may want to consider working with Aya.
